Panic Hardware was started (in John's basement, no less!) by Ty Morton and Chris Raleigh for the
above-stated reason. However, we plan to do more stuff, now that we have a taste of it. Ty has
whipped up a handy little Excel operator that will auto-track all of your business stuff for you. It
should be out there on the net before too long. Also, we're going to do the guys at Macworld
one better and publish a guide to every extension there is (or every one we can find) - what it is,
what it does, how much memory it actually uses, and why you probably don't need it. If we're
lucky, we'll get that published for you tout suite.
The name "Panic Hardware" came from lunch one day in a dining hall on the campus of Ball
State University. The emergency exits announced that panic hardware would cause the alarm
to go off if the door was opened. The name Panic Hardware was thus born, because Chris
thought that it would be a funny name for a software company.
So there you go.
